Cady Culture

I made it my goal to kick 2016’s ass because 2015 kinda kicked mine. So to start I decided to chase after a little dream of running my own small business. I’ve long been admiring and supporting others in their pin making, patch making, and art creating efforts. I decided to take some of my savings and invest in getting my first lapel pins made. I’d written up a list of things I thought I would love to have as pins, and got inspired, and picked one I knew a lot of people I know would also love. I drew up my design and sent it to a company. A few emails back and forth and working with a graphic designer, and I got back a proof I was stoked on. I put in my order and now I’m waiting for them to be made and shipped. I am so excited to show you the proof for my first pin: latte art! The first run is limited to 100. I showed my boss and he loved the design and wants to sell them in our shop, so they’ll be available there and in my online shop. Follow the instagram to be notified when they’ll be arriving and available to order!
The proof! Coming next month!!

Arts and Crafts

I might have mentioned one of my winter goals of doing more art. My goal is to make one piece a week, but some weeks I make several things and others I make none haha. It’s not really balanced but at least I’m creating and that’s what matters! Christmas was an excellent motivator because what’s better than a home-made gift!? Well some may argue otherwise, but I personally love to get artwork. Here’s what I made last month!

Dad cut a bunch of wood slices for Mom and when I came over we drew on them and made them into ornaments for the tree! I drew the dogs of course haha, and she did everything else :)
For Anne's birthday I embroidered a patch of her dog Archie, which she promptly had sewed onto her denim jacket by the awesome ladies at Sew Dayton!

I embroidered some of our shop's logos for my bosses at work :)

I found an old drawing I'd inked and decided to finally paint it. I used the cheapest paint set and brush ever so the results of the colors are less than thrilling but I still like it and will probably hang it up on the wall :) Have you done any art projects lately?

My bedroom.

I cleaned yesterday! This is my room in it's current state. I cut up a bed sheet I got at the thrift store to make my curtains :)

Poster from an art store in Chicago.

A drawing my friend Zach did of me, and needle point from the thrift store.

If you couldn't tell, I have an obsession with photobooths.

Solar powered paper lanterns from Ikea!

This is from over the summer.

Cute bird mobile thrifted for $.79!

I really like my room :) I want to buy more art to hang in it, or maybe commission more friends. I love the paint too, light blue is one of my favorite colors. At this house, I've really gotten into decorating. I love showcasing my favorite photos!

Whats your favorite thing about your room?

Fundraising time!

So Jared's sister is having a sailor theme'd wedding, and we found the perfect dress! But it's $240 :,( But! I had an idea to offer my services as an artist! I'm selling doodles for $1. I have a lot of followers on Tumblr, and a lot of friends on Facebook, and if at least 240 people participate, I can get the dress!

Here are some old examples of my artwork :) It probably won't get this extravagant, but you get the idea, you dollar won't be wasted!

If you would like a drawing, just let me know, and donate here
