Latte Art

Since I loved the brewer’s cup so much, I’ve been thinking about latte art competitions. I don’t know when the next one will be, but I definitely want to enter. I’ve been practicing perfecting and pouring my milk, every day, every drink, and I love it. It’s so fun to make art for people to drink! Here’s some recent drinks I was really proud of.

366 - Week 3

25/366 - I was very behind on sleep between staying up for the X-Files and opening the shop a few morning in a row, so I spent the afternoon napping with Steve and watched the second episode that night.
26/366 - Stopped into Warehouse 4 again, can’t get enough of that S’mores flavor!!
27/266 - Got donuts from Bill’s before running errands. So damn good :)
28/366 - I got a Stanley thermos from Kroger on sale!! This thing is like magic, I looove it. I made soup, and several hours late when I opened it for dinner at work, it was piping hot!! So awesome.
29/366 - Steve and I sent this photo to my Mom to make her smile, because her shoulder has been hurting her. She said it worked :)
30/366 - The view of the sunrise from work was pretty beautiful!
31/366 - Just honing my craft ;)

Cady Culture

I made it my goal to kick 2016’s ass because 2015 kinda kicked mine. So to start I decided to chase after a little dream of running my own small business. I’ve long been admiring and supporting others in their pin making, patch making, and art creating efforts. I decided to take some of my savings and invest in getting my first lapel pins made. I’d written up a list of things I thought I would love to have as pins, and got inspired, and picked one I knew a lot of people I know would also love. I drew up my design and sent it to a company. A few emails back and forth and working with a graphic designer, and I got back a proof I was stoked on. I put in my order and now I’m waiting for them to be made and shipped. I am so excited to show you the proof for my first pin: latte art! The first run is limited to 100. I showed my boss and he loved the design and wants to sell them in our shop, so they’ll be available there and in my online shop. Follow the instagram to be notified when they’ll be arriving and available to order!
The proof! Coming next month!!

Barista Life

Let me tell you, I LOVE being a barista. It hardly feels like work. I love drinking and making coffee, I love my customers, I love my coworkers, I love everything about where I work! It's such a relief to find a job doing something I'm passionate about, because I've had those anxiety enducing, depressing, suck-hole jobs that make you dread your existence. Here's your wakeup call if you have one of those "ugh it's Monday" jobs, start looking elsewhere! Life is too short to stay at a job like that any longer. Trial and error, find what you enjoy doing in a positive environment, it can turn your whole life around. Sorry I'm turning into a self help blog post, but I hope you find a job you love and makes you happy! I really want to share is some of the latte art I've made, because it's so fun and challenging. I practice my pours in every drink I make so I can eventually do a latte art competition. At the end of the month I'll be participating in a pour over competition which I am so excited about. I'm a bit competitive and the prizes sound awesome, and the experience will be so fun, I can't wait! Today is the five year anniversary of the shop I work at's grand opening, so here is my short contribution to this wonderful place.
Making a pour over!

Extremely humble beginnings haha!
A more recent rosetta I was really proud of.
