Home Snaps

Here’s a couple of snaps around the house! I got this awesome candle at the thrift store, and I’m so in love with it. The bone is from my dear friend Victoria, who decorated it with flowers :)

New Blanket!!

For maybe a month now I’ve been deliberating on what kind of comforter to buy. Mine was shot to hell and back, a hand-me down probably over a decade(or maybe two) old, with the stuffing shooting out the top and all the seams popped. It was way past time. So I researched and tried to decide between down, or down alternative. I was leaning to the alt because I am allergic to basically everything and figured I’d be allergic to that too. I was thiisss close to buying one on Amazon, but I was scared to buy something I couldn’t see and touch myself in person first(even though I could send it back, I just wanted instant gratification-to find the ONE.)
Then one morning I decided I wanted Bill's donuts, which is in the neighborhood of a Tuesday morning, which is one of my favorite stores right now for home decorating and cheap stuff. I stopped in, and found two I liked! Both had 600 fill(whatever that means) and seemed warm and soft. One down for $50, one alt for $80. I took them out in the back of the store and examined them closely. I liked the alt because it was machine washable, but I liked the down because it was so soft and luxurious. After spending too much time and making employees suspicious, I finally picked the down. What a great choice, I’m obsessed with it!! I need to get a duvet cover stat, but the one I’m in love with on Urban Outfitters hasn’t gone on sale yet so I’m waiting and trying to keep is clean in the meantime, because it seems dry cleaning a down blanket is a bit expensive unfortunately.

Snow Day!

It's basically snowmageddon here in Ohio, which in my opinion is kind of awesome. Granted I would have rather it happened in the middle of winter, not the end, but oh well, what can you do? Jared cleaned my car of snow this morning(he is so good to me ♡), and Scarlett(my car) does just awesome in the snow. I got to the on ramp of the highway, and noticed a bunch of people stopped on the ramp, sliding into one another. Of course I turned around and went home, because my life and car are worth more than one day of work. I called in to let them know it was literally not possible for me to make it, and a few phone calls later they let me know they were closing the store anyways! Glad I didn't even attempt it. Thankfully Jared had the day off too, so we took the cabin fevered dogs out to play in the snow.

Halloween Decorating

Google added this effect and filter, and I kinda dig it!
As you probably know by now, Halloween is my favorite holiday. A few nights ago, I couldn't take it anymore, and I asked Jared to drag up the box of decorations so I could get into the spirit. Now I'm in full blown Halloween mode!

I told Jared to pretend to be a spider, hehe.
We got the inside set up as well.
Now all we need is some candy to pass out to trick-or-treaters and to work on our costumes! *Hums its the most wonderful time of the year*

Cutting through the Jungle

Each year we've been together, Jared and I have graduated out living style. We started out staying with our families, then in an apartment together. After that a duplex, and this year we found a house to rent! With all this extra space and privacy comes a little more responsibility...which includes mowing the yard. I don't know why, but I've always loved cutting the grass. My parents were always afraid to let me do it(lets face it, the lawn mower probably weighed more than I did as a young girl), which kinda just made me want to do it even more. Its just so satisfying for some reason, its getting something done around the house but not getting dirty. I dunno. But anyhow, I just wanted to show you the before and after pictures of how it got out of control before Jared bought the mower.
Before - Bufford refused to venture out there.

In Process - We had to hack it down with the weedwacker because the mower kept stalling.

After!
