DIY Sunglasses Holder!

I've been meaning to make one of these for 1,000 years I swear! My sunglasses are always floating around and getting lost or broken. This way I can keep them organized and safe in one place. Now all I need is a protective case for my purse... because that's a whole other sunglasses death trap.

All you need is some kind of backing- I used some reclaimed wood Jared picked up from someone advertising free crates on craig's list-, enough elastic to stretch the length of your backing(I come from a family of crafters, so I found some just chilling in my craft closet. Thank you great Grandma Sager), and something to secure your elastic( I tried crazy glue... didn't really work. An industrial stapler(or heavy duty? whatever you'd call that) would have been my first choice but I don't have one so I just thumb tacked mine into place. Then viola! It's as simple as that :)

DIY Repurposed Terrarium

Jared had his quarterly week off, and agreed to go thrifting with me. We went to my new favorite huge one, and we found some great stuff! One of my best finds being this little glass terrarium I instantly saw potential in. It was dusty, old, fully of old rotten flowers, and a little fake bird. I snatched it up with full intentions of transforming it.

Here's the horrifying beginnings. I scooped all that out and washed it up. Then we went for a walk in the woods and collected goodies.

Added some pebbles on the bottom for water runoff. Then...

Tah-Dah!! It turned out even better than I had hoped. I love it so much :)

I'm pretty thrilled about it, Jared carefully scooped the mushrooms of of some decaying trees, and I gathered the moss. I hope it lives a long and happy little life in there!

What I Wore - Oldies but Goodies

Everything featured is more than 3 years old or so except the necklace and shoes so I won't bother posting the usual outfit rundown. The necklace is from Altar'd State and the shoes were a gift from Mom(K-mart I think). The shorts are vintage Guess jeans I thrifted and cut into shorts! I'm pretty pleased with the turn out, I even made the little holes myself. The top and sheer cardigan are from Forever 21 back when I lived in Alaska. It was about 90 something degrees when I tried to take these photos, so bare with the crazy fluffy hairdo :) While I was taking the photos the mama deer made an appearance. We've spotted her a few times down by the creek. This time she was solo eating some plants, but the last time she had three fawns following her arcoss the road! Three!! They were so cute. Hope you're enjoying the muggy hot sunshine as well.

A nice little throw back Thursday for yas.

My mom got me the skirt for Christmas and the rest of the outfit just fell into place from my closet. The coat was thrifted for $4! What a deal. I am obsessed with the patch my Mom made me for Christmas! She saw it on etsy and made it herself for me :) Its so much more special that way. And its true, I am a coffee queen. I'll be sitting in starbucks in a few hours...

I don't know if you can really tell but from the photos, but its finally snowing again! It makes me really excited, I feel like winter is a lot less dreary with snow. I hate when everything is dead and bleak outside, snow at least gives you a reason to venture outside and play. Bufford still loves the snow more than ever.

Also, I'm sorry I haven't blogged in October. Just didn't have to drive to. I wanted to but I just was in kind of a funk, you know what I mean? I hope to blog a lot more this year, and I hope you enjoy reading!

Glitter Banners

I finally got up and finished my banners! They're pretty spiffy and sparkly if I do say so myself.
