Krohn Butterfly Show

I'd been wanting to go see the butterflies for a while but plans kept falling through. Jared and I finally got the chance, and I already want to go again. It was really crowded and really hot, but the butterflies were so pretty. I went in feeling terrified(I don't like anything with more then 4 legs touching me), I had this vision of being swarmed by butterflies. Ever since my friend Cat told me butterflies suck the fluids out of dead bodies, they've struck fear into my heart. These butterflies wanted nothing to do with me though, and the more the gave me the cold shoulder, the more I wanted to take a selfie with them. Sadly, they were all too busy flitting around to take one with me, so I settled on some with Jared :)
The desert room.

Check out those eyes! This friend landed on Jared's leg.

A pal on my back, the closest I got to a butterfly selfie.

Haha, I had to share Jared's face when it flew away XD

Exploring in the Woods

There's a park not too far from us that we love to go hiking in. Its getting to be a little too hot for Bufford, but we got in a couple trips so far at least. Last time we went, we discovered this really neat side with an old bridge and train tracks. The train doesn't run anymore(you can tell by the fact that there are trees and shrubs growing through the tracks on either side of the bridge), so I got brave and decided to cross it with the boys. Bufford was really brave, he kept tripping and almost falling which terrified me, but he kept going. I thought for sure he would fall through a crack and take us all down with him, haha! I don't think he would fit though, I was just really scared. Jared also found a bunch of lizards and was chasing them up and down the tracks.

Red-bellied lizard friend!

Jared slipped and almost fell and it made me laugh >D

Thrifting with Mom

I got to spend the afternoon with my Mom last Friday, and of course we went thrifting. We've been going thrifting together since I was in high school, but I've found so many new stores to look since then. We've basically become seasoned pros, and we cleaned house! Not only that, but just spending time and laughing with her is so important to me, I love my Mom more than anything. Here's some shots of our fun.
We found matching bonnets :)

A swimmer's cap I thought would look cool...but really did not.

Chinese food for dinner!

Some of my haul, Mom spoiled me. She also brought new shoes from kmart because she's sick of my crap holey shoes, haha.

Cutting through the Jungle

Each year we've been together, Jared and I have graduated out living style. We started out staying with our families, then in an apartment together. After that a duplex, and this year we found a house to rent! With all this extra space and privacy comes a little more responsibility...which includes mowing the yard. I don't know why, but I've always loved cutting the grass. My parents were always afraid to let me do it(lets face it, the lawn mower probably weighed more than I did as a young girl), which kinda just made me want to do it even more. Its just so satisfying for some reason, its getting something done around the house but not getting dirty. I dunno. But anyhow, I just wanted to show you the before and after pictures of how it got out of control before Jared bought the mower.
Before - Bufford refused to venture out there.

In Process - We had to hack it down with the weedwacker because the mower kept stalling.

After!

Bufford's Birthday

Since we adopted Bufford, we don't know his actual date of birth. So we like to celebrate it on the day we adopted him(May 10th). It's been three years since I found this smelly ding dong on Craig's list, making him 5 years old. We love him so much, and I'm so happy we found him.
