The American Sign Museum

The Sign Museum wasn't as big as I was expecting, but it definitely was worth seeing. I'm someone who loves neon lights, and this place is full of them. There is a tour, but Sophie and I decided not to take it and instead just meandered around. My favorite was the Mcdonald's one of course!

The Big Boy and I.

Sweet lil Sophie!

Yay!!

A Day Out with Sophie

When Sophie comes to town, its a party. Basically an all day affair of non-stop fun and eating. Here's everything we got into last time she visited.
Pho!
Pho(pronounced "fuh" apparently) has become one of my favorite meals. It was Sophie's first time trying pho, and she looked adorable eating it.
Cutest little nugget.

We went to a fantastic coffee shop and fell in love with the aesthetic.

I want my whole house to look like this!!
We also browsed the local market where we oogled delicious foods, lovely plants, and other lovely items, such as the crystal I purchased.
Amethyst I bought at the market.
The Sign Museum was also a stop on our tour, but I'm saving that for another post because that's a billion photos worth sharing. Sophie's been busy being promoted at work, and getting ready to go back to school so I haven't seen her in a bit, but I know next time I see her is gonna be great!

The Cone

Everyone probably knows about my obsession with ice cream by now. I decided to look up a unique place to get ice cream because I was getting burnt out on the same old same old at Dairy Queen. Boy, did I hit the jackpot...
It's called "The Cone" and it is magical!! They have twists, dips, sundaes, and so much more! There's even a side section of frozen yogurt if you're into that. We brought Bufford along with us, and he garnered a lot of attention of course. I got him a cone and instead of licking it like a sane being, he bit off the entire top and chewed on it with the more bewildered look on his face. Such a dingus. Jared got a dipped cone, cotton candy shell. I got a strawberry twist. I'm so in love with this place, not only is it delicious, but it's adorable.

...there it goes.

I cannot WAIT to go back!!

DIY Repurposed Terrarium

Jared had his quarterly week off, and agreed to go thrifting with me. We went to my new favorite huge one, and we found some great stuff! One of my best finds being this little glass terrarium I instantly saw potential in. It was dusty, old, fully of old rotten flowers, and a little fake bird. I snatched it up with full intentions of transforming it.

Here's the horrifying beginnings. I scooped all that out and washed it up. Then we went for a walk in the woods and collected goodies.

Added some pebbles on the bottom for water runoff. Then...

Tah-Dah!! It turned out even better than I had hoped. I love it so much :)

I'm pretty thrilled about it, Jared carefully scooped the mushrooms of of some decaying trees, and I gathered the moss. I hope it lives a long and happy little life in there!

What's in my bag?

This post contains affiliate links.

I was inspired to shoot these photos for a Modcloth contest last month and just wanted to share them here on my blog as well.
Basically any time that I am in motion, Bufford is right there with me. I don't know if its more that he's a worrier, or that he's just naturally a curious little cat, but he's my little shadow. So of course as I'm getting up and emptying the contents of my purse onto the floor he's there to investigate. I definitely didn't mind because he always takes the cuteness level to any photo I post to over 3,000%.
Anyway, I don't ever carry a lot in my purse. I got this watermelon purse from Modcloth actually, and it's small to begin with, but that works for me. I've had large purses in the past, and they're always very empty and cavernous.
I almost never have cash on me, but at this moment in time I had made a trip to Plato's Closet and made a wopping $3.85 turning in old clothes, haha. The wallet was a gift from my friend Sophie and is definitely Twin Peaks inspired :) The phone case is also a Modcloth accessory. Little advil cold and sinus because you never know when you'll get a sinus headache. Burt's bees because I am notorious for picking at my chapped lips. And a sharpie because again ya just never know!

What I Wore - Nature Girl

Cardigan - Urban Outfitters
Tank top - Urban Outfitters
Shorts - Thrifted
Boots - Plato's Closet
Necklace - Altar'd State

Money is finally balancing out, and I'm on a budget, plus we've had great discounts at work which all make for a wonderful equation that means: NEW CLOTHES!! Ahh yes, haha. I felt really adorable in this outfit and got lots of compliments from my coworkers. The sad thing is that it's August and I wasn't hot in that cardigan, this summer has been a bit of a ripoff. Lots of cloudy rainy lukewarm days. I honestly miss the days where it feels like my skin is going to melt off... maybe I'm the only one but, it makes swimming so much more refreshing. Also eating ice cream, but anyways. I'm really into this outfit, and I feel like they're great staple pieces because they can be mixed and matched all kinds of ways.

Swimming!

A few weeks ago I went swimming with my little brother Duke and Cousin Hailey at the Natural Springs Resort in New Paris. Its definitely one of my favorite places to go swimming. There's a diving board, a dock you can swim out too, and you can even go scuba diving in the deep part to see a submerged car. Anyway, my Mom was also in attendance too, but she didn't swim. At first I was just sunning on the beach with Mom, but the kiddos convinced me to dive in. I swam and swam until my body was achy. We tried to teach Hailey how to dive but it wasn't really working, and when I tried to dive off the diving board, I somehow managed to hurt my neck so that really didn't inspire grace or bravery in anyone. We still had a blast, and when we got tired, those two tried to catch fish with a net by luring them closer with Doritos.
On the was home we passed a cemetery with three fawns in it. I made Mom stop so I could attempt to take a piture. Once we got home, Mom made dinner and I was starving! I ate a huge steak, two and a half ears of corn on the cob, and a ton of caprese salad! Delicious. I wish every day off in summer could be like that day :)
Selfie time.

liddle deer.
Hope you're having fun in the sun too!
