Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, Jared's family came to stay with us! We had an awesome time playing with his niece Charlee and nephew Wyatt. We've never had kids visit so we learned a lesson in baby-proofing the house! I loved checking the house for zombies with Charlee and making Wyatt become bashful, such cuties. I also had a blast playing this card game with the rest of Jared's family. I was on the ground cracking up a few times, near tears. And all the food was delicious, of course. Not to mention Jared and his Mom put in my new car battery so I can drive again. It was a great Thanksgiving, I'm super thankful for the Stephens family :) They're the best!

Boof was so well behaved! So proud of my boy :)
Jared and his mom prepping dinner! Yummm.
Charla doing "go-go style" with the "ipee" :)
Dogs and kids, the hardest things to photograph, ever.
Night-night, Pookie ♥

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving too!

Kisses from my baby :)

Shirt - Urban Outfitters
Shorts - Thrifted
Tights - Forever 21
Shoes - Toms
Hoodie - Urban Outfitters
Jacket - Forever 21
Hair Pin - c/o Modcloth

I love the color scheme of this outfit! And the mountains on the shirt remind me of Alaska so its nice to wear the part of the state I miss.
This Thanksgiving has been great! Jared and his mom put a new battery in my car and it works again! Thank goodness, now I can not be stranded in my city. So thankful for their help. I also had fun playing with Kate's kids while she cooked. I love Jared's family! I can't wait to see more of them tomorrow :)
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving too!

What I Wore - Bee-Keeping Babe

Dress - Modcloth
Shoes - Thrifted
Hair Clips - Etsy

I have been waiting for about a month to get those hair clips so I could take a proper set of photos of my new bee-longings(sorry)! They finally arrived and they are lovely and this dress from modcloth is my absolute FAVORITE! I'll be wearing it tomorrow for Thanksgiving with Jared's family :)
Today after work, I had to rush to the post office, and then home to utilize the last bit of daylight. I've worked 9 days straight and I've had no time or energy to do much. I decided to hurry home to take a few outfit pics and I barely made it.
I hope you have a great thanksgiving tomorrow :)

My bedroom.

I cleaned yesterday! This is my room in it's current state. I cut up a bed sheet I got at the thrift store to make my curtains :)

Poster from an art store in Chicago.

A drawing my friend Zach did of me, and needle point from the thrift store.

If you couldn't tell, I have an obsession with photobooths.

Solar powered paper lanterns from Ikea!

This is from over the summer.

Cute bird mobile thrifted for $.79!

I really like my room :) I want to buy more art to hang in it, or maybe commission more friends. I love the paint too, light blue is one of my favorite colors. At this house, I've really gotten into decorating. I love showcasing my favorite photos!

Whats your favorite thing about your room?

What I Wore - Feelin' Foxy.

Boof always gets curious as to what I'm up to when I set up the automatic timer, and run to my position haha.

Please excuse the Boof hair, it invades everything in my life.

Cardigan - Thrifted
Shirt - Consignment shop in Colombus (rag-o-rama)
Broach - ^
Jeans - Hollister
Shoes - Ebay!

I bought those shoes in the spring and I've hardly worn them! Probably because the only thing that matches is this cardigan, and it hasn't really been sweater weather until now. But I loooove them! I really love needle-point stuff, not sure why. I like this outfit though, its very simple, which probably draws attention to the shoes.

I've been sitting around the house a lot because my car broke down :( My alternator went out (on the highway mind you. My car turned off 5 times, it was terrifying.) and the new one is waiting at the auto-part store, however, we don't have the tools to remove on install them, so I've been waiting patiently as I can. Its probably better, I'm saving money this way, haha.

So, since I've been home-bound, I've indulged in some self care. Brushed and straightened my hair (Which is driving me nuts. I'm about to cut it all off, its so fried. It dreads and tangles every night. I mostly keep it up in a bun.), did my finger and toenails, and I started reading again!

That's always on my self improvement list. I used to read all the time when I was younger. Especially because my parents only let me on the computer for 2 hours a day. When I turned 18 I was granted unrestricted access to the internet, and I've been glued to my laptop ever since. I really miss reading and how it made me feel.

I bought a lot of books over the summer to encourage myself, but it didn't work out to well. I read about 1 out of 10, haha. For some reason this morning, when I woke up, I wanted to read. So I picked up The Notebook. Oh man. That movie. I still remember the first time I watched it. It was at my best friend Christal's house. I'd heard of it, but was never interested, seemed to sappy and I was hell-bent on acting more tough than I was.

I was SOBBING at the end. I'd never cried that hard over a movie. Yet I was simultaneously cracking up because Christal and her mom were just looking at me with this expression like they had no idea how to console me or if they should, because it was just a movie! So I probably looked even more like a maniac, balling and laughing. But it hit really close to home because the whole story line was mirroring my life and it was really weird and wonderful. I'm a REALLY big romantic. Like, huge. I love love.

The book is great so far. In just an hour and a half I got about halfway through the book! I'm gobbling it up like candy. Hopefully this leads to more reading :) What are some good books you've read lately?
